Who are we?
The team at The Greek Kitchen are a group of friends with a shared passion for all things Greek and edible.
Growing up in Greece with relatives who've taught us how to behave in the kitchen since we were very young and shown us the recipes that have been in our families for years

Over time we have worked in professional kitchens or cooked daily for our families and now, for the past three years we have worked together to share our love of Greek food with you.
Cooking Classes In Athens
Athens is the centre of the world of Greek produce and it is something to celebrate!
Our hands-on cooking experiences have been created to ensure that everyone who takes part, no matter their cooking skill level, is able to learn something and to have a a good time.

We welcome people with dietary requirements and ask that you contact us at least 48 hours before the class start time to let us know of any so that the appropriate ingredients can be arranged.
​
All of our cooking classes begin with a 30 minute trip to the local produce market with the cook to collect the ingredients for the meal. Here you'll get to meet some of the local traders and see the wide range of produce that we are lucky to have access to here in Greece: There is a section for meat and fish/seafood which is very "real", nothing is slaughtered here but it can be overwhelming for some people and we respect that. Let your host know that you'd rather not enter this section and they will return for after that section has been explored by the rest of the group.

Please dress appropriately for the weather for the market visit; it can get very hot so bring a hat, water and even put some sunscreen on before you head out. We also recommend bringing a refillable water bottle with you to stay hydrated.

Wear closed-toed shoes and absolutely no flip-flops or loose sandals are to be worn during the trip to the market or during the cooking class.

It is important to arrive just before the start time of your booking as the host will leave for the market on time. If you are late please call us to let us know and we will try to help you join the group.

Cooking Class In Athens/Online Cooking Class Cancellation Policy
In the event that you need to cancel your experience you can do so and get a full refund up to 24 hours before the start time of your cooking class.
​
There will be no refunds given under any circumstances for cancellations made in the 24 hour period before the start time of the class (with the start time being the time local to Greece). There will also be no refunds given for no shows.

If you are unable to make your class and would just like to change the date or time then please email us more than 24 hours before the start time of the class (with the start time being the time local to Greece) and we will reschedule your class with no charge at all. We are unable to change classes or offer any refund if the request is made within the 24 hour time period before the start time of the class.
Group Experiences with The Greek Kitchen
We have had a lot of success working with many international companies, schools, colleges and universities over the past years and are pleased to be able to offer high quality experiences to Athens visitors to really make their time here special.

While we are good at what we do, we aren't capable of doing everything so when we plan and create special activities for groups we always work with local, professional outside sources who have all the qualifications and licensing needed to make your event the absolute best that it can be. This ranges from licensed guides and transport companies to venues that are appropriate for the activity involved.
All of our group activities and experiences are insured and have your comfort, security and safety in mind at all times.
Private Experiences with The Greek Kitchen
Sometimes the situation calls for a private, more personal event for you and your family and friends. At The Greek Kitchen we have been working with private clients for many years to assist in perfecting their time here in Greece.

When arranging private experiences we work with our collection of outside sources; including licensed guides, drivers and certified chefs. We ensure that all legalities are taken care of and that insurance has been made to guarantee the safety of the client and the service provider at all times.
